GETTING READY FOR PHUKET

This is the time of the year when my family is getting older... so it is the right moment to celebrate our birthdays in Thailand, Phuket!

We are very exited to go back there with our little 2 year old daughter. We are planning to go on a day cruise to go snorkeling with the beautiful exotic fish. Even if our toddler is too young to participate, we will still take her swimming amongst them. We can not wait to show her how beautiful life is over there. We believe in sharing every moment in life, the bad and the good ones.

So guys if you have any tips or activities for us to do altogether, do not hesitate to comment! I will keep you posted with some photos of stunning Phuket and its Phi Phi Don islands!

THE TRUTH ABOUT JET-LAG

As parents, we always stress a little bit when it comes to travelling overseas, as it often means: jet-lag! But not to worry too much, infants and toddlers get back on track really quickly!
Aside from the advice given in a previous post, Baby Included wanted to add that if your little one seems to be back to his normal routine sleep within a day or two, jet-lag can be seen through his eating pattern. So don't worry if baby does not eat well, at least for the first week.Their stomach needs time to readjust and to feel hunger too.
Have fun!

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS FOR YOUR LITTLE ONE

For French People
If you travel on French territory, a document proving the identity and your affiliation with your baby can be your family book (livret de famille). If the entry in a foreign country is subject to the presentation of a valid identity card (even within Europe), you will need to make this document on behalf of the child.
If the destination requires the presentation of a passport, you have to make one for your child too.

HOW TO KEEP YOUR LITTLE ONE ENTERTAINED ON THE PLANE

Here are some ideas on what to bring with you to entertain your baby or toddler on a flight:
For baby:
  • His favourite soft toys, music toy to calm him down and to fall asleep, soft books, chewing toys which are colourful, plenty of small and inexpensive toys.
  • If your baby is starting to walk, make sure that he walks a lot before boarding the plane (at the airport) so you are sure that his energy level will be lower.

WHY GET A NANNY

In my experience, traveling with your family is just the best way to travel. There is always so much to do and so much you can choose from that every body is happy. There is one thing though, that you should not put aside, it is your romantic relationship.

WHY RENT BABY EQUIPMENT

In my experience, bringing your own baby materiel on holiday rhymes with disaster. I have done it and I said : never again!
The first time I flew on a national flight, my baby girl was 3 months old. I brought her beautiful pram along. Once at the airport of my destination, my pram was on the carousel and not even with bulky object (as it was supposed to!) and when I tried to put it up altogether, I discovered that an adaptor was missing! I quickly understood that I would not be able to use my pram in the streets of Paris! I complained but the airline company did not do anything about it. I did not even get a document stating that my pram was damaged. As I was traveling alone, no need to say that it was very difficult to get to a taxi with two suitcases and a broken pram!
